a joy williams short story turned into a diaristic haptic film poem

in the summer of 2020, my partner and i lived outside and did tree work while we weathered a pandemic and political terror. my art practices, labor, and recreation merged in reflection: temporary refuges that felt absurdly weightless, if not charmless.
